A mission to create safer drivers

If you’re aged 9 to 17, have your first taste of proper driving in a Suzuki Swift or similar vehicle with us, go bling with a drive in a gleaming Bentley, take a cool classic car for a spin, or even get behind the wheel of an actual fire engine!

Our youngest drivers are not forgotten. We’ve got funky little fully-electric Firefly sports cars for 4 to 9 year-olds to have fun in.

With a positive attitude to driving through fun and safe experiences and lessons, our young drivers get a head start before even applying for a provisional licence.

We offer a friendly, well-organised set-up, using dual-controlled cars on private land. Our UK Government-approved instructors are all super patient and encouraging. We have over 70 venues run by us around the country, so there’s bound to be a Young Driver centre near you.

And don’t forget Young Driver lessons make a great gift for teens, aged 4 to 17.

Driving a Greener Future
Young Driver is working to achieve net zero, where our activities don’t add any carbon to the environment.

It’s not easy, especially when you are in the business of delivering driving lessons: whichever way you look at it, driving produces carbon emissions.

We’re working with environmental consultants Contented who have independently measured our carbon footprint and are helping us to reduce carbon emissions where we can and to offset any remaining emissions such that we achieve net zero.

A mission to include everybody

YOUNG DRIVER™ operates at venues across the UK, offering driving lessons to youngsters aged 10-17 and those who may not otherwise be able to have them.

Because the lessons take place on private property, the rules are more flexible than on the road. Lessons take place in real, dual controlled cars. At four venues we have automatic vehicles for those who may need them.

We work with many young and older people with a wide range of disabilities, including those who are deaf, blind, have learning difficulties or neurological disorders. Some may never have thought they’d have the opportunity to experience what it is like to drive a car, and some may never be able to drive on the roads. Some of our pupils have been told they will need to wait several years before being able to apply for a provisional license, which can be hard when friends can go ahead and learn. So this gives them an opportunity to see what it’s like for themselves. It can really help build self confidence.
